About this position
The Safety & Security Supervisor provides leadership in the day-to-day operations in order to achieve a safe and secure environment for customers, visitors and team members. The supervisor will coordinate assigned shift activities and daily responsibilities of the safety and security officers and surveillance staff. The supervisor shall provide a positive role model and be a team player. The supervisor will provide coaching to team members using the formal improvement process, and discipline as indicated to improve quality and performance. The Safety & Security Supervisor reports to the Manager of Safety and Security.
Requirements
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. • Bachelors degree in related field preferred. • Must satisfactorily complete defensive tactics course within six months of employment, or have documented equivalent training (having occurred within the past twelve months prior to employment)
Experience
Experience • 3+ years healthcare security supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to manage execution and motivate teams to achieve organizational goals and objectives • Law enforcement and/or private security management experience leading and developing staff and safety and security programs. • Demonstrated knowledge of Life Safety Code • Military duty may be considered to meet experience requirement. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on fact. • Demonstrated ability to deal with disruptive situations in line with medical center policy.
Licensure/Certification
• Current Class D driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record. • Must be qualified by North Memorial Health Care Department of Transportation to operate hospital vehicles.
