About this position
The Emergency Management Specialist of the Emergency Management Program provides leadership, consultation, and coordination for the North Memorial Health Care (NMHC) system-wide crisis management, business continuity, and emergency response programs (North Memorial Medical Center and Maple Grove Hospital), and integrates an all-hazards approach to ensure appropriate system, organizational, and departmental emergency response plans are in place. Collaborates with team members to complete, test, and refine existing plans; ensures applicable emergency management standards are being met; assists in the developing, implementing, and maintaining emergency management programs, plans, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DNV/NAIHO (NFPA 99 (2005) Chapter 12 Emergency Management), FEMA, OSHA, EPA, Department of Health, HAZMAT, and all other emergency response standards and best practices.
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in emergency management, healthcare or related field. Experience may be substituted for part of preferred educational qualifications as appropriate. • Completion of IS 100, IS 200, IS 700, IS 800, ICS 300. • Has completed Emergency Management Certificate (State of Minnesota HSEM or equivalent) or completed within 1 year of hire.
Experience
• Minimum two years' experience working within an emergency management setting as it relates to emergency/disaster management. • Experience in developing drills and exercises and required documents (MSEL, AAR/IP, etc.). • Experience or knowledge of the process to develop IAPs for planned events or incidents. • Working knowledge of the Incident Command System and National Incident Management System concepts. • Strong working knowledge of regulatory standards at State and Federal Level as it relates to Emergency Management, as well as knowledge of Homeland Security Plans and Preparedness. • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. • Ability to utilize Power Point, Word, Excel, and other computer software programs.
Licensure/Certification
Current Emergency Manager Certification–or the ability to obtain at the State or Federal level within 1 year of hire as condition of continued employment
