Our health system encompasses two hospital locations in Robbinsdale and Maple Grove as well as a network of 23 clinics which includes 13 primary clinics, 6 specialty clinics, 4 urgent care/urgency centers and emergency care offerings covering five counties. Our Robbinsdale Hospital, established in 1954, is a 385-bed facility recognized as the top Level 1 Trauma center for 25 years, as well as serving as a Level II pediatric trauma center. Our Maple Grove Hospital was established in 2009, is a 134-bed facility recognized as a top hospital in the state for Women and Children Care, with a Level III NICU, and is the largest Family Birth Center in the state (~5,000 deliveries per year and over 60,000 babies delivered). About this position
The Educator/Nurse Clinician is a Registered nurse with focused expertise and accountabilities in expert clinical practice, customer care, education, evidence-based practice, and organizational leadership. This role partners with leadership and physicians in the achievement of a culture of excellence in customer care and professional nursing practice. The clinician, under the direction of the Care Center Director or Clinical Leader, has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. In collaboration with other health care professionals, applies superior clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality customer care outcomes. Actively and consistently demonstrates the mission, vision, values and guiding principles of Maple Grove Hospital.
Requirements
Education
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing required; Masters degree or higher in nursing preferred or evidence of progression toward required degree.
Experience
• Four or more years’ clinical experience in related field of specialty (4+ years of RN ICU experience required) • Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of customer care. • Demonstrated competence as a professional staff nurse. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the customers served by his/her assigned care center. • Must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the customers’ status and interpret the appropriate information needed. • Highly organized individual with demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills required. Must possess the ability to manage multiple projects and resources. • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of customers. Competently performs job-specific technical skills and processes identified in the job-specific competency-based orientation materials. • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in high stress situations, acts quickly in response to critical situations. • Solid PC skills to include electronic medical record, MS applications, Internet, etc. • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both in written and oral form), clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience. • Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner. Has an awareness of, responds to, and considers the needs, feelings and capabilities of others. • Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations. • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards. • Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
Licensure/Certification
• Current licensure and registration as an RN in the State of MN. • Current BLS certification required.
