About this position
The Revenue Cycle Business and Systems Specialist is the primary resource for analytical insight, narration and reporting needs of Revenue Cycle Departments for Senior Management.
This position’s main responsibilities include: Consulting Senior Leadership on Accounts Receivable (AR) and other macro financial trends/ risks and providing operational analysis insight to leaders on potential improvement initiatives. Collaborating system-wide for identifying Key Performance Indicator (KPI) related risks, developing and maintaining Financial and Revenue Cycle (RC) report(s) and providing interdepartmental education related to KPIs.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field
Experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form effective working relationships with multiple partners with varied business interests and priorities. o Team member relations skills and experience to engage with all levels of staff, leadership and senior leadership. • Knowledge of Healthcare Revenue Cycle models and systems such as: Billing/ Claims Adjudication, Clearing house platforms, payer processes, denials and write offs and contracting terms and negotiations. • Experience and exposure in a variety of RC core areas including but not limited to: Business Office, Registration, Charge Capture, Coding, Patient Access etc. o Extensive understanding of RC functional areas and how various key functions impact measurement/ indicators. o Strong analytical and problem solving skills and extensive knowledge and experience with process improvement methodologies and measurement. o Ability to integrate with significant system wide performance projects (i.e. consulting engagements) o Extensive knowledge of measurement and reporting systems as well as ability to understand, navigate, and oversee the big picture as well as individual projects. o Ability to collaborate throughout the RC and various related business owners. • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, multitask and prioritize specific projects as well as broad system strategic initiatives (including reporting and time sensitive projects concurrently). o Able to understand complex information and convey it to a variety of internal stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner to foster partnership. • Experience in RC Reporting: o Knowledge of relational databases and reporting tools such as: Clarity, Crystal and SQL. (Join types, tables, data types) o Able to create custom reports related to Finance, Revenue Cycle or Strategic Goals. o Expert in Microsoft applications such as Excel. o Knowledge of EPIC's reporting workbench, work queues, CFB, DNFC, DNFB, DNB, and Stop Bills.
Experience • Minimum 3 years in Healthcare working in Revenue Cycle, patient accounting/ patient access systems, performance improvement or healthcare business operations • 2+ years of prior consulting experience preferred
Preferred Experience • Minimum 3 years in data mining or analytics • Minimum 3 years working directly in EPIC • Certification with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic preferred • Minimum 3 years of Microsoft applications, expert in excel preferable
