About this position

The Registered Dietitian works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide customer care that is aligned with customer-focused medical and nutritional goals. This role spans diverse practice areas, including inpatient and outpatient services, and supports customers with varying acuity levels. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for applying the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), conducting nutrition assessments and Nutrition-Focused Physical Assessments (NFPA), determining nutrition diagnoses, developing and implementing nutrition interventions, and monitoring and evaluating customer progress.

Responsible for planning and implementing customer nutrition care activities based on standards set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, regulatory agencies, and North Memorial. The position is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, participating in team conferences, providing food and nutrition-related in-services, and contributing to the development and revision of hospital policies.

 

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a related field.
• Master's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics/Nutrition Science required if eligibility for dietitian registration exam is established after 1/1/24
• Advanced degree in nutrition or related field, or additional nutrition-related specialty certifications, preferred.
• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Licensure with the state of Minnesota.
   

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field.
• Master's degree in nutrition/Dietetics/Nutrition Science required if eligibility for dietitian registration exam is established after 1/1/24
• Advanced degree in nutrition or related field, or additional nutrition-related specialty certifications, preferred.
• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Licensure with the state of Minnesota.

Experience
• Effective public speaking and presentation skills.

• At least one year of clinical experience in an institutional setting, preferred.
• Previous outpatient dietetics experience strongly preferred.
• Certificate in Nutrition Support Clinician, or willingness to obtain certification, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to work with a diverse population of customers, team members, and peers.
• Proficient in utilizing computer technology effectively and efficiently.
  

Licensure/Certification

• Commission on Dietetic Registration credential (Clinic - must be registered within 3 months of hire; Hospitals - must be registered within 6 months of hire.
-NMHC Standard

• Licensure with the state of Minnesota (Clinic - must meet requirements for licensure within 3 months of hire; Hospitals - must meet requirements within 6 months of hire)
