Operations Analyst

DescriptionPosition Purpose:
Under general supervision, this role will retrieve, review, and analyze data. Participates in the analysis and interpretation of data including but not limited to identifying cost and clinical opportunities, preparing statistical and other reports, and drafting presentations along with developing and implementing new processes and data reports

Resource Management:
Resource Management is accountable for the optimization of team resources through the development of system solutions, demand-based staffing approaches, and improved productivity and work design. Operations Analyst will focus on demographic, clinical, and labor cost data.

 Completes all necessary analyses and reporting; identifies information sources and gathers data, including economic research, market demographics, industry intelligence, operational feasibility, risk analyses, and demand studies.
 Analyzes, identifies, defines and evaluates opportunities (i.e. Resource Management: for labor
utilization and throughput improvement) using data from various sources; presents for approval and the planning for specific opportunities; recommends possible changes, evaluates results of
implemented plans by utilizing necessary systems to perform required tasks.
 Provides decision support and technical expertise to leadership and management, utilizes complex analytical tools to guide and facilitate leadership to effective decision making.
 Tracks variances between existing forecasts, plans and actuals to provide guidance and assistance to understanding trends and future impact.
 Facilitates resource planning goal and objective development.
 Reviews existing programs and services; defines and develops plans to respond to organization, physician, and customer needs.
 Primary point of contact for assigned operational areas; facilitates, implements and provides
knowledge transfer for assigned areas
 Resource Management: Independently analyzes customer and organization demand; reviews current customer trends and acuity levels to identify short term demand changes and provides in-depth analysis to adjust customer-level forecasts accordingly; gathers data from all pertinent internal and external sources to assist in creating an accurate demand forecast representing anticipated demand and historical volatility; maintains tracking reports to monitor actual demand and labor utilization against forecast. Works with leadership to coordinate customer demand and quality expectations with skill mix, productivity, and work flow in order to enhance customer and team member experiences; leads the process to evaluate, develop, communicate, and manage labor resource planning
 Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.

 The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list.

 Recognizes and complies with legal regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.
Understands and follows principles and standards as outlined in North Memorial’s Corporate Code of Conduct.
 Protects customer and team member privacy and only accesses customer and/or team member related information as needed to perform job duties.
 Reports violations or areas of concern to supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.
 Bachelor's degree

 2-5 years of experience in Forecasting and Demand Planning
 2-5 years solid analytical and research experience
 Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and/or Access
 Prior experience implementing new processes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office products
 Prior experience in healthcare business planning
 Strong experience in identifying and gathering data such as economic, research, market
demographics, industry intelligence, operational feasibility, risk analyses, demand studies, etc., is
highly desired
 Knowledge of hospital processes and the impact of demand planning on labor utilization
 Skilled in planning, including researching, analyzing, organizing, communicating, directing, and
 Resource Management: Demonstrates working knowledge of labor resource management
