The Medical Director position is integral to the leadership of North Memorial Health, with oversight of 4 destination clinic hubs and 8 additional community based clinics (12 locations). The clinics are staffed by approximately 75 primary care physicians, 35 advanced practice providers and our supportive care teams. We need an individual who can build strong trust relationships with all North Memorial team members and physicians.
The Medical Director will report to our Chief Medical Officer, Ambulatory Service. This position will work closely with a dyad operations director, along with other senior leaders in North Memorial Health. The position will consist of 50-80% administrative requirements/time, with the remainder clinical based.
Responsibilities shall include the insurance of effective and efficient delivery of quality care consistent with the mission, vision, assets and hospital/physician and provider collaboration strategies of North Memorial Health. Provide leadership to develop, coordinate, implement, and improve systems to provide remarkable patient care. In collaboration with division leaders, play a key role in advancing, implementing and improving organization initiatives and strategies and participates in leadership committees. Direct and provide consultation in areas of new program development, clinical policies, procedures and protocols, clinical staff/medical staff recruitment, education and orientation, quality improvement processes, capital equipment procurement regulatory compliance and accreditation. Promote an environment conducive to staff and physician satisfaction and retention while assuring a respectful and sensitive diverse work environment. Achieve key patient care, financial and/or operational outcomes as found in annual work plan. Establish systems and processes that drive accountability for patient care, financial, and/or operational outcomes. Work effectively with cross company partners to execute divisional and departmental initiatives and day-to-day operations. Develop talent within the team, including acquiring, engaging, and retaining. Staff, organize, and schedule the team to leverage maximum labor productivity. Translate organization vision and strategies to department level and mobilize allocated resources to achieve profitable growth. Effectively anticipate obstacles and barriers and work creatively to avoid or overcome and completing other duties as assigned.
