DescriptionThe Professional Services Coder accurately codes and charges for professional billing, and performs charge entry for facility fees associated with services. Applies the correct ICD-10CM and CPT coding with appropriate modifiers, analysis and data entry performed on inpatient and outpatients professional services for billing customer accounts, and ensures accurate clinical data base is maintained. Ensures compliance of coding and documentation for reimbursement according to federal regulations and guidelines.RequirementsExperience:
• Experience with compliance/auditing related to coding and documentation preferred
• Minimum 1 year experience in the healthcare field, professional fee coding experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT and HCPCS coding
• Knowledge of CCI and government regulations
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability, desire and initiative to learn necessary skills and continue education in coding changes PC literate
• Epic knowledge/experience preferred

• Graduate from approved coding specialist program
• Certification through AAPC or AHIMA; or able to obtain certification within 18 months of hire
• Maintenance of certification and continuing education hours required
License Requirement• Certification through AAPC or AHIMA or obtain certification within 18 months of hire.
• Maintenance of continuing education hours required, as NMHC Standard
