About this position
Works under the direction of the registered nurse performing services for the customer, which may include adolescent, adult or geriatric, as necessary to maintain the personal comfort and safety of the client in the home. In addition, the home health aide communicates and documents customer care outcomes.
Requirements
Education
• High school graduate or equivalent required • Successfully completed the coursework from a state approved Nursing Assistant program, or from a state approved Home Health Aide program, or currently enrolled in an academic health care field with activities of daily living skill competencies.
Experience
• Minimum six months experience in direct customer care required. • Home Health or Care Center experience preferred. • Demonstrated ability to read, write, follow written instructions and document care given. • Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgements. • Demonstrated dependability, tact and patience. • Demonstrated ability to provide clear verbal communication to customers, caregivers and staff. • Must provide proof of current car insurance annually per hospital policy. • Ability to handle exposure to tobacco smoke and animals.
Licensure/Certification
• Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant Certification or currently enrolled in a nursing program having completed first quarter/semester of direct customer care clinical rotation and must successfully complete HHA competency testing during orientation period. - NMHC Standard • BLS Certification - NMHC Standard • Valid Class D driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record, and annual proof of auto insurance per hospital policy - NMHC Standard

Salary Range: Home Health Aide ($19.87 - $27.76), based on experience
Shift Differential: Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.
