About this position

This position is a combination of working remotely at home and onsite in Robbinsdale, MN.  You must live in Minnesota or Wisconsin to be considered for this position.

Will travel within the west metro area to our clinics and hospitals to be work onsite as needed.

The Senior Network Engineer will be a key team member in long-term projects to support corporate improvement initiatives such as technology refresh, new and remodeled facilities, and connections with business partners. The Engineer will also assist in maintaining and troubleshooting network, wireless and data center technologies spanning the enterprise, data centers, and our health care facilities. 

Operational duties include troubleshooting technical problems through collaboration with other team members and vendors, translating business requirements into network or process designs, and planning and recommending platforms to enable efficient, reliable, and stable access to the Internet as well as key clinical and business applications.

What we’ll expect from you

• Responsible for installation, set up, configuration, testing, mentoring, training and support of new and upgraded technologies.
• Performs system level activities including but not limited to: Move, adds and changes (MAC), Routine maintenance, patching, repairs, upgrades, performance tuning and repair, testing, life cycle management.
• Provides recommendations to management to insure service level agreements are meeting expectations.
• Receives work direction through IT operational workflows: IT support processes or service desk incidents; change management activities and service requests, approved IT projects.
• Effectively uses appropriate authoring techniques, tools, standards, and processes to maintain detailed and summary level documentation on applied technologies, services and support processes and ensure their availability.
• Participates in the development of the design, ordering, configuration, installation, and technical support related to associated telephone, and network systems infrastructure.
• Facilitates the implementation and development of IT service management workflows.
• Provides proactive life cycle management related to the telecom and network communications infrastructure.
• Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
• The team member is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list.
• The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list. • Recognizes and complies with legal, regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in related field.   

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with network, messaging, network and LAN security implementations.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a communication / network engineer.
• Experience with the following technologies: Cisco Networking, Routing, Cisco Security, Cisco IP Telephony, Cisco call manager and systems management tools. • Demonstrated knowledge in communication/network engineering
• Possess critical strategic and tactical thinking approach to technical issues to provide leadership for projects related to service and technology.
• Expertise in the use of Microsoft productivity tools (Word/Excel/Visio)
• Complete understanding of network, IP telephony or messaging administration skills
• Expertise in one or more of the following technologies required: Cisco Networking, Routing, Cisco Security, Cisco IP Telephony, Cisco call manager and systems management tools.
• Intuitive ability to assess engineering problems and a creative passion to solve them
• Ability to lead, motivate and provide constructive feedback and direction
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced work environment
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
