Staffing Support Coordinator

Robbinsdale, MN

About this position

The Staffing Support Coordinator provides assistance to the manager for staffing and scheduling and time card editing. Generally supports several managers with a combined staff of around 200. Provides backup to Staffing Specialists to provide flexibility in scheduling for the Resource Management Department, and other clinical departments.

 

What we’ll expect from you

• Provides scheduling assistance to managers by putting out a balanced four week schedule at the designated interval.
• Assigns extra shifts as needed in preliminary sign up period
• Makes all daily staffing and scheduling changes within API
• Completes all trades that are requested by staff on a daily basis in API
• Coordinates and grants vacations throughout year and manages summer vacation sign ups
• Monitors CPT staff on monthly basis to ensure they are meeting CPT requirements
• Provides daily time card editing of assigned unit.
• Coordinates daily/shift staffing of personnel in assigned areas.
• Prepares unit work schedules for personnel in assigned areas.
• Maintains accurate data bases of information.
• Meets with staff and unit representatives regarding staffing issues.
• Makes recommendations to Nurse Managers regarding vacation, holiday and FTE staffing patterns.
• Makes recommendations to Nurse Managers regarding contract issues and budgetary allocations.
• Establishes and maintains filing systems following document archival requirements.
• Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
• The team member is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list.
• The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list. • Recognizes and complies with legal, regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility.
• Understands and follows principles and standards as outlined in North Memorial's Corporate Code of Conduct.
• Protects customer and team member privacy and only accesses customer and/or team member related information as needed to perform job duties.
• Reports violations or areas of concern to supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.

Education

• High school education (or GED) required
• Associate degree preferred   

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

• Three or more years clerical experience required.
• One year experience as Staffing specialist or Health Unit Coordinator
• Experience with scheduling in complex health care environment.
• Experience using API staff/Scheduling or equivalent preferred.
• Experience using API time/attendance or equivalent preferred • Proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work independently with minimum supervision.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Organizational, logical problem solving and decision making skills required.
• Strict attention to detail and accuracy required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) software
• Ability to perform Staffing Specialist duties
