About this position
Assists the pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. The pharmacy technician will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist in a manner consistent with the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy.
What we’ll expect from you
• Accurately prepares IV solutions, and other sterile injectable products. • Maintains pharmacy automated dispensing machines. • Delivers medications and assures medication security is maintained. • Compounds sterile and non-sterile extemporaneous preparations. • Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals. • The team member is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list. • The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list. • Recognizes and complies with legal, regulatory, accrediting and procedural requirements related to area of responsibility. • Understands and follows principles and standards as outlined in North Memorial's Corporate Code of Conduct. • Protects customer and team member privacy and only accesses customer and/or team member related information as needed to perform job duties. • Reports violations or areas of concern to supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED). • Diploma from an ASHP accredited pharmacy technician program or one year experience as a pharmacy technician lieu of ASHP accredited pharmacy tech diploma.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Minimum one year experience as a pharmacy technician required or, in lieu of experience, Diploma from an ASHP accredited pharmacy technician program accepted. • Computer and keyboard skills.
Licensure/Certification(s) Mandatory
• Minnesota State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration - NMHC Standard • For team members hired after January 1, 2013, Pharmacy Technician Certification, or obtained within one year of hire - NMHC Standard
