About this position

The Data Architect serves a technical function in the development and support of the Measurement & Reporting Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Clarity reporting environments. This position works on assigned projects with the purpose of providing assistance and expertise to the customer and IT representatives in how best to organize and provide information to meet the measurement and analytic needs of the organization. The incumbent provides support in the development, analysis, design, and management of a variety of complex data sources and visualization methods to support clinical and operational process improvement and waste reduction initiatives.

 

What we’ll expect from you

• Designs and constructs appropriate data structures to meet project requirements and comply with overall Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) design standards and principles.
• Develops appropriate Extraction,Transformation and Loading (ETL) applications for assigned projects.
• Works closely with clinical and operational project stakeholders and fellow team members to suggest and deliver appropriate solutions to clinical and operational challenges.
• Works with Outcomes Analysts and Business Intelligence developers to understand and leverage report visualization tools against data structures in the EDW.
• Works with Information Technology to understand and leverage data sources into the EDW.
• Maintains a general understanding of industry application development methodologies, tools and techniques to keep skills current and expand and enhance business, clinical and technical capabilities.
• Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.

Education

• BA/BS in Information Technology, healthcare or related business degree   

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

• Four years experience in technology or related field.
• Two years experience in healthcare analytics.
• Two years experience working with relational databases and SQL. • General understanding of database principles, processes, technologies and tools.
• General understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) - both Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML)
• Strong verbal communication skills and is comfortable interacting with colleagues at various levels of the organization (including executives).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and wear many hats.
• Preferred: experience working with organziational leaders and physicians.
• Preferred: general understanding of statistics, LEAN. value stream maping, and other analytical methodologies.
